Dental Fillings

Aesthetic dentistry is increasingly moving away from the use of metal. Today, fillings are made from porcelain or resin-based materials, which can be used to create restorations that harmonize with the natural color of the tooth and function well over the long term.

Timely treatment of tooth decay or minor dental injuries is crucial for preserving teeth in the long term. Aesthetic dental fillings can restore the original shape, function, and appearance of the tooth after the damaged tooth structure has been removed.

At our practice, we use modern, high-quality tooth-colored composite filling materials that naturally blend with the existing teeth in terms of color and translucency. The completed filling is almost unnoticeable while providing a stable and durable solution for everyday use.

During treatment, we place particular emphasis on a minimally invasive approach, meaning that we aim to preserve as much healthy tooth structure as possible. Thanks to precise treatment, the restored tooth is not only aesthetically pleasing but also remains capable of withstanding normal loads and fully functional.

A tooth that is treated and properly restored with a filling in time has a significant advantage, as in many cases this can prevent the need for tooth extraction, thereby preserving the natural dentition and bite balance. In the long term, this contributes to stable chewing function and the prevention of further dental problems.

Regular dental check-ups allow tooth decay to be detected at an early stage, so in many cases, more extensive procedures can be prevented with simple, quick, and painless treatment. An aesthetic dental filling is an effective solution for preserving the health and natural beauty of the teeth.

Aesthetic White Filling

Made from a completely tooth-colored, light-cured filling material. It can be used to treat small and medium-sized cavities in both front and back teeth.

It is an excellent alternative to amalgam. At our practice, we use the latest aesthetic filling materials, providing excellent results in terms of both aesthetics and function.

It does not wear away during chewing, and thanks to the so-called “chameleon effect,” it takes on the color of the surrounding teeth, making the filling virtually invisible.

Replacement of Amalgam Fillings

Numerous articles and studies have been published about amalgam. Some defend its use, while others would ban it. When reading the various articles and studies, it is understandable that readers may become uncertain about what they should do with their amalgam fillings.

We take the following position regarding the replacement of amalgam fillings:

• We do not place amalgam fillings when a new filling is required.
• Instead of amalgam, we use aesthetic light-cured filling materials.
• We recommend replacing an old amalgam filling if secondary decay is detected next to it. In this case, the new filling is made from an aesthetic, metal-free material.
• An amalgam filling may also be replaced for aesthetic reasons, when the aim is to eliminate the grayish color in the mouth.

We do not recommend replacing a well-functioning amalgam filling that does not cause any aesthetic concerns solely for the sake of replacement.
